Create bright and cheerful knits to enjoy this spring with Issue 226! We have eight sweater projects for you, including a chic jumper with cable details by Sarah Hatton, a lacy pullover by Anniken Allis, and an intarsia rollneck sweater from Kaffe Fassett. Other garments including a fisherman’s rib tank top, a cabled sweater for men, and a yoked design with pretty slip stitch colourwork.

We also bring you vintage-inspired scarves, fun colourwork socks that are designed to use up scraps of 4ply yarn, and a Fair Isle tea cosy. We meet Aleks Byrd, who shares the family story behind her stunning new book of Estonian-inspired designs, and discover the rare-breed Cotswold yarns of Beatrice Bayliss.

Our special supplement features a beautiful yoked cardigan which has been designed for us by Lisa Richardson. ‘Campion’ has a cosy, fluffy fabric, as it’s knitted using a strand of mohair bouclé DK yarn held together with a strand of baby alpaca 4ply. The project is knitted top down, with a pattern of bobbles around the yoke, and is finished by embroidering on tiny roses and leaves.
