The Crochet Project The Shawl Project Book One

£12.00
The Shawl Project Book One - The Crochet Project A collection of six crochet shawls using Fingering/4ply yarns. At The Crochet Project we love a good shawl, perfect for all year round wear. It needs to have beautiful drape and an interesting pattern. A shawl is a perfect blank canvas for trying a new stitch pattern or technique. They are portable, quickly achievable and can be made from relatively little yarn. In this book we share our love of shawls and show you the secrets of shaping them, tips for incorporating stitch patterns and a beautiful pattern demonstrating each shape. All the examples use just one 100g skein of 4ply yarn, making these patterns the perfect stash buster or excuse to buy a special skein. Whether you’d like to make your first shawl, learn to design your own or just understand a little more about what makes them so special, this is the book for you. Patterns are written using UK crochet terminology with US conversions given in the abbreviations section. Patterns are charted where appropriate. Schematics are provided throughout.

West Yorkshire Spinners Winwick Mum Seasons

£10.50
Winwick Mum Seasons - Christine Perry Our new collaboration with Winwick Mum captures her seasonal memories in four special Signature 4ply sock designs. Let's begin with Spring; where new life emerges, leaves unfurl and primroses dot the hedgerows. Next comes Summer filled with the scent of magnificent flowers, buzzing bees and the bright afternoon sun. Then Autumn - early morning mist burns away to reveal spectacular colours. The red, brown and yellow leaves fall and crunch beneath your feet. Finally, Winter with its feathery, frosty patterns, sparkling stars, icy air and warm wool socks next to a crackling log fire. We are all connected and inspired by these magical seasons, from the things we see, to the things we do, and the things we create. Featured yarns - Signature 4ply

Purl & Jane Brockabank Jumper
Patterns

Purl & Jane Brockabank Jumper

£4.50
Brockabank Jumper - Purl & Jane by Jane Ellison I love this cable plait and try to use it wherever I can. This rib is another good one because I like to have a row off wherever possible – a row in the pattern where you can relax. In this rib, you have a knit row where you can relax, and in the cable you have the wrong side row where you don’t cable so you can relax here too. I think knitting should be relaxing so this combination works perfectly! And if you wanted an adult version then you’ll find one in my Simple Knits book!

Jane Crowfoot Magic Circles Blanket
Patterns

Jane Crowfoot Magic Circles Blanket

£6.95
I love looking at how shapes fit together and had wanted to create a tessellating circle design for some time. Circular motifs can be tricky to fit together and it is common to find the circular shape becomes slightly distorted when motifs are pieced together, so rather than create motifs that are square or octagonal, I have designed cross-shaped infill pieces that protect the shape of the large circles. When making the small infill circles you are asked to make a magic loop to start. You can find a technique download that explains how to do this by following this link. Instructions on how to add surface crochet can be found by following this link. The pattern includes a clear layout plan and a chart is also included for reference when joining the small circles. Finished blocked measurements: Approximately 117cm (46in) x 117cm (46in).

Laine Publishing Contrasts

£35.00
Meiju K-P's patterns are filled with elaborate lace, beautiful cables and carefully finished details - but at the same time they are fun to make. As a designer, Meiju likes to combine challenging techniques with a pleasant knitting experience. Meiju's debut book, Contrasts - Textured Knitting, contains 22 patterns, including pullovers, cardigans, scarves and hats in a soft, delicate and feminine style. They have been designed by Meiju to be functional and fit well. The pullovers and cardigans are mostly knitted from the top down, making their size easy to adjust. Meiju lives in Helsinki, Finland with her husband and three sons. Even as a teenager, she never knitted from patterns, preferring to create her own designs. Later, knitwear design became a passionate hobby and part-time work. She hopes to spark new ideas for beginners and more experienced knitters. · 280 pages · 22 knitting patterns (9 sweaters, 5 cardigans, 1 poncho, 4 shawls, 3 hats), additional pattern modifications given. · Both charts and written instructions provided.

Pompom Quarterly Issue 36
Patterns

Pompom Quarterly Issue 36

£12.50
Issue 36: Spring 2021 Let's spring into Issue 36! Our first issue of 2021 is inspired by quilts and honours the resourcefulness, practicality, community, and design elements traditionally associated with this textile-based practice! Expect patterns which embrace improvisation, are the perfect home for treasured mini skeins (hello scrap-busting!), and mimic the comfort of a much-loved quilt. Crafts collide within our Spring 2021 collection, as we celebrate how patchwork, embroidery, and sewing are an important part of knitting and crochet as well as arts in their own rights. Featuring designs by: Amalia Sieber, Kindred Red, Ainur Berkimbayeva, Chantal Laplante, Gina Fama Röckenwagner, Inyoung Kim, Julie Robinson, Maria Matveeva, Wencke Pertermann. In addition to 9 unique designs, Issue 36 contains an interview between Sara Trail of the Social Justice Sewing Academy and Emi Ito, in which they talk about Sara's moving intergenerational memorial quilting project, and an article by Sofia Aatkar on crafting and identity expression. It's no secret that the Pom Team adore the colours pink and yellow, so when Gina Fama Röckenwager proposed her Battenberg recipe for inclusion within Issue 36, we jumped at the idea!
