Laine Publishing Worsted
Patterns

Laine Publishing Worsted – A Knitwear Collection by Aimée Gille

£27.00
Worsted - A Knitwear Collection Curated by Aimée Gille of La Bien Aimée is a knitwear collection featuring 14 patterns by 10 incredible designers. The designers all have their unique style and speak to many kinds of knitters. Now they come together to form a beautifully cohesive collection. You can find garments such as sweaters and cardigans and accessories like shawls and hats, with techniques ranging from stripes and stranded colourwork to cables and textured stitch patterns. Aimée Gille was born and raised in Kansas, the United States, and later moved to France, where her passion for knitting was reignited. In Paris, where she now lives with her family, she first opened L’OisiveThé, a wonderful knitting café, and later La Bien Aimée, a yarn company whose gorgeous hand-dyed yarns are sold worldwide. With Worsted, Aimée wanted to create a tangible way to connect with people through knitting and bring joy. During the challenges of the last 18 months, Aimée found comfort in immersing herself in creating a new yarn base, Corrie Worsted, and inspired by it, all of the designs in the book are worked in worsted weight yarn. In Aimée's own words: "I hope that you will welcome the adventure of casting on a new project from this book with perhaps some of that beloved yarn you have curated for your stash or why not go on a yarn escapade and mix Corrie Worsted with other yarns."

The Knitter Issue 200

£7.99
The Knitter - Issue 200, April 2024 Join us to celebrate the 200th issue of The Knitter! Our special pattern collection includes elegant tank tops from Emma Vining and Caroline Birkett, cabled sweaters and cardigans, and a vibrant intarsia cardigan from Dario Tubiana. We have fabulous accessory projects, too, including Fair Isle mittens, a Shetland lace shawl, Swedish colourwork socks, and a super-stylish felted shoulder bag. Our masterclass explores different ways to knit short circumferences in the round, and we meet the new team behind the iconic British yarn and design brand, Baa Ram Ewe. Our special supplement features a wonderfully cosy shawl, designed by Annika Andrea Wolke. Annika’s large, triangular design is knitted in Rowan’s ever-popular Felted Tweed yarn, which provides a soft and warming fabric. The shawl is knitted in black, with a pattern of narrow stripes and bobbles in lime green – bright pink tassels are attached at the end for extra pizzazz!

Jane Crowfoot Blue House Blanket
Patterns

Jane Crowfoot Blue House Blanket

£6.95
The main hexagonal motif used in this project was originally designed to be part of my Frida's Flowers blanket crochet along project in 2016, however I felt it wasn't totally right for the design, so I made an alternative piece instead. Despite its omission from the project, I love the motif and so I named it 'Diego's Flowers' after Frida Kahlo's husband Diego Rivera. The colours for this project were inspired by the décor of Frida & Diego's fabulous kitchen within their home in Mexico City 'The Blue House', which is now a museum. The kitchen surfaces feature bright yellow and blue ceramic tiles and the painted table and chairs that sit at the centre of the room have green and red hand painted details. The large terracotta bowls and cooking pots that are placed around the room are decorated with flashes of orange and pink - all colours that feature in the palette I have chosen for this project. I adore the fun 'fiesta' feeling of this blanket and am really pleased with the outcome of it, but I also love seeing how motifs can be used to make alternative projects, so I asked ace crocheters Marina Kelly, Gemma Biggs and Sue Macdonald if they would like to come up with a couple of ideas for how to use the motifs in another project. Within this pattern we have included some images of the fabulous cushion project made by Marina and the vibrant handy bag project made by Gemma as well as the fun, stash busting mandala that Sue created. I love seeing my designs 'out in the wild' and I think the way Marina, Gemma and Sue have interpreted the pattern is fantastic. Hopefully you will be inspired too! The pattern is written in UK & US terms and it includes written instructions and crochet charts. Please note that this is a pattern for the blanket project. Instructions are included for how to make a hexagon and half hexagon motif. The images of the bag, cushion and mandala are shown here to give you ideas of how you could interpret the crochet motif to make alternative projects.

Pom Pom Publishing Take Heart: A Transatlantic Knitting Journey

£14.50
Take Heart: A Transatlantic Knitting Journey by Fiona Alice Here at Pom Pom we are beyond excited to reveal our newest incarnation - the Pom Pom Press! Our love of print now extends beyond the realm of magazines and our very first book is Take Heart: A Transatlantic Knitting Journey by Fiona Alice. You may recognise Fiona’s name from the gorgeous patterns she has designed for Pom Pom Quarterly in the past, and we are thrilled to be able to expand upon her distinctive design aesthetic, beautiful illustration style, and thoughtful writing. Take Heart traces a path across the Atlantic from Fiona’s hometown in Nova Scotia, to where she now resides in London. The book was photographed by longtime Pom Pom collaborator Juju Vail, with the stunning Welsh seaside as the backdrop. Each pattern is lovingly illustrated by Fiona, along with heartfelt writing detailing her inspiration behind each one. We believe that handmade objects are imbued with the stories of those who make them, and nowhere is that more evident than here. Featuring 11 accessory patterns using yarns from locally owned British & Canadian companies including SweetGeorgia, Handmaiden Fine Yarn, John Arbon Textiles, Illimani, The Uncommon Thread, Kettle Yarn Co, Toft Alpaca, The Border Mill.

Jane Crowfoot Streymoy Knitted Cushion

£6.95
I designed this project for a workshop group who joined me on a Stitchtopia cruise around the UK and over to the Faroe Islands in 2018. I based this design on traditional Faroese fairisle designs, where 2 shades of yarn are used in each round. The design uses 2 main shades (grey and cream) and 3 contrast shades. The cover is worked in the round and is fastened with 7 buttons. Pattern only available in UK terminology. Finished blocked measurements - Approximately 45cm (18in) x 34cm (13in).
