West Yorkshire Spinners Collaboration In Design

£10.50
Collaboration In Design - Rosee Woodland, Emma Vining, Helen Metcalfe and Francesca Hughes At West Yorkshire Spinners, experimenting and developing British yarns is our passion. So to create this amazing garment collection we commissioned four talented designers to join us in a unique collaboration of their ideas and our new ColourLabDk. Emma Vining, Francesca Hughes, Rosee Woodland and Helen Metcalfe have each brought their own distinctive individual styles to the project. The result is a formula for success and a diverse range of fantastic patterns for you to create. From Rosee, there's vibrant and playful Scandinavian-inspired designs. Francesca's focus is on contemporary garments in lace-like textures that reveal the charm of neutral shades. Helen celebrates strong shapes using cable and bramble stitch whilst Emma re-invents the classics in beautiful bold shades and intricate cabling. Inspired by the great stitch definition and 18 bright solid shades of ColourLabDk yarns, our collaborators have designed 8 original women’s handknits in 100% British wool for you to create at home. Rowan Magazine 74

Rowan Magazine 74

£14.25
Rowan Magazine 74 In Rowan Magazine 74 we are shining a spotlight on two yarns – the first being a firm favourite that has been in the Rowan range for nearly a quarter of a century, Felted Tweed, and new kid on the block, Fine Tweed Haze. Felted Tweed My Way celebrates this very special yarn whilst championing the individuality of the Rowan design team. This is a yarn which is as fantastic for bold and brilliant colourwork as for a classic one colour sweater. The designers do Felted Tweed their way, resulting in a wonderfully eclectic mix of designs and styles which is synonymous with Rowan. In Fine Tweed Haze we explore our new yarn which is a lightweight version of much-loved Tweed Haze. With a modern tweed look, punctuated with flecks of contrasting colours, it is as perfect for one-colour designs as it is for Fair Isle and slip stitch. The designers explore interesting stitch work and techniques, including top down and in the round. Featured Designers Martin Storey, ARNE & CARLOS, Quail Studio, Lisa Richardson, Kaffe Fassett, Erika Knight, Georgia Farrell, Vibe Ulrik, Chloe Thurlow Featured yarns: Felted Tweed, Felted Tweed Colour, Kidsilk Haze, Fine Tweed Haze

Cocoknits Sweater Workshop
Patterns

Cocoknits Sweater Workshop

£38.00
With over 30 years of knitting, designing, and teaching experience, Julie Weisenberger presents her first book: Cocoknits Sweater Workshop which includes nine new designs. The book expands on her signature simple, seamless, top-down styling. Beyond being a knitwear collection, this book also explains the Cocoknits Method, a system of tracking knitting progress in your own easy to follow customized worksheet. Unlike most traditional patterns that create flat shapes, the tailored style of construction in these patterns creates truly three dimensional garments that impart a great fit upon completion. The innovative colour-coded Cocoknits Worksheet shows exactly where to work shaping elements without having to continually read and interpret pattern abbreviations, and at the same time allows the knitter complete control over customization to achieve a fantastic fit. All designs are worked from the neckline down, so once the neck and yoke area are established, the knitter can just cruise through generating the sweater and not worry about counting or losing track of their place in the pattern. Another advantage of knitting top-down is the ability to try on your garment as you work, to ensure the fit is right. In addition to all new patterns, Julie has dedicated a section of the book to an in-depth guide to choosing the right patterns for your figure type with considerations for colourwork, textured stitches, and hemlines all working in concert to create the right silhouette for you.
