Jane Crowfoot Streymoy Knitted Cushion

£6.95
I designed this project for a workshop group who joined me on a Stitchtopia cruise around the UK and over to the Faroe Islands in 2018. I based this design on traditional Faroese fairisle designs, where 2 shades of yarn are used in each round. The design uses 2 main shades (grey and cream) and 3 contrast shades. The cover is worked in the round and is fastened with 7 buttons. Pattern only available in UK terminology. Finished blocked measurements - Approximately 45cm (18in) x 34cm (13in).

Pompom Quarterly Issue 29
Patterns

Pompom Quarterly Issue 29

£12.50
Issue 29: Summer 2019 The nine designs in this issue were inspired by ceramic tiles, terracotta, and sand, so expect earthy shades with splashes of colour and organic, repeating patterns. For your summer wardrobe, we have essential summer tops and tees, a cardigan, a shawl, and a crochet bag - all light and breezy for warmer days. Featuring designs by: Amy Christoffers, Sari Norlund, Soraya García, Isa Catepillán, Clare Lakewood, Josée Paquine, Marjorie Martin, Rachael Reese, Stephanie Earp. This issue includes an interview with Emi Ito, who answers our questions of creativity and misappropriation. 'Learning and Unlearning' unpicks the issues of cultural appropriation and diversity: important topics which we have been re-evaluating. We also have yarn-free projects to enjoy while the sun shines. If you're on the lookout for a new craft to try, we have a project bag tutorial by artist Arrounna Khounnoraj of Bookhou. She'll show you how to block-print your own fabric, perfect for creating your own tile-inspired tessellating patterns! Plus Rebecca Lawrence's recipe for her Maple Bourbon Fudge is an easy way to whip up an impressive sweet treat to share with friends.

Isager Eat & Knit by Marianne Isager & Camillo’s Kitchen

£22.50
Welcome to knitting patterns by Marianne Isager and food recipes from Camilo’s Kitchen. All recipes and patterns in Eat & Knit are built around a fruit or a vegetable. You’ll find six beautiful pullovers, a lovely scarf, crisp pizzas, fresh salads, delightful snacks, fresh-caught fish, spicy mussels, sweet cakes – and drinks for the sunset at the beach. Eat & Knit is also about the need to pause, – and about finding pride in creating with your hands. Tversted is known for knitwear and yarn, for summer food, for jazz, a lovely, white, long-stretched beach, a unique nature, for artisans, for antique and second-hand shops, for creative village and fringe activities. And for human warmth, awareness and care. Eat & Knit was created at the former elementary school, Tversted Skole. Here Isager has developed an active modern cultural centre. In Summer, Camillo’s Kitchen pops up and host salon evenings, communal dinners and more. It was in this spirit that Eat & Knit was created.

Laine Publishing Traditions Revisited Modern Estonian Knitting

Laine Publishing Traditions Revisited Modern Estonian Knitting

£32.00
For a small country on the Baltic Sea, Estonia's tradition and love for handicrafts greatly surpass its size. Estonian knitting is all about techniques, embellishment and regionality. Each knit tells a story about the knitter and where they live. Aleks Byrd's book Traditions Revisited - Modern Estonian Knits is an introduction to Estonian knitting, both traditional and traditional-inspired. It includes 19 patterns, ranging from mittens to sweaters, that blend seamlessly with modern knitting styles. Aleks Byrd - whose roots are in Estonia, Canada and the USA - is a knitwear designer based in Bath, UK. In addition to knitwear design, she works as an illustrator and teaches Estonian knitting techniques around the world. In her designs, tradition and Aleks' own, graphic style meet. With her book, Aleks wants to make traditional Estonian techniques accessible to everyone. At the same time, she builds a bridge between Estonian knitters and the international knitting community. · 216 pages · 19 knitting patterns (10 sweaters, 1 cardigan, 1 dress, 1 vest, 1 shawl, 1 cowl, 1 hat, 1 pair of socks, 1 fingerless mitten, 1 mitten) · Detailed, illustrated tutorials for 5 traditional Estonian knitting techniques · Both charts and written instructions provided

Cocoknits Sweater Workshop
Patterns

Cocoknits Sweater Workshop

£38.00
With over 30 years of knitting, designing, and teaching experience, Julie Weisenberger presents her first book: Cocoknits Sweater Workshop which includes nine new designs. The book expands on her signature simple, seamless, top-down styling. Beyond being a knitwear collection, this book also explains the Cocoknits Method, a system of tracking knitting progress in your own easy to follow customized worksheet. Unlike most traditional patterns that create flat shapes, the tailored style of construction in these patterns creates truly three dimensional garments that impart a great fit upon completion. The innovative colour-coded Cocoknits Worksheet shows exactly where to work shaping elements without having to continually read and interpret pattern abbreviations, and at the same time allows the knitter complete control over customization to achieve a fantastic fit. All designs are worked from the neckline down, so once the neck and yoke area are established, the knitter can just cruise through generating the sweater and not worry about counting or losing track of their place in the pattern. Another advantage of knitting top-down is the ability to try on your garment as you work, to ensure the fit is right. In addition to all new patterns, Julie has dedicated a section of the book to an in-depth guide to choosing the right patterns for your figure type with considerations for colourwork, textured stitches, and hemlines all working in concert to create the right silhouette for you.

Laine Publishing The Knitted Fabric: Colourwork Projects for You and Your Home

£37.50
The Knitted Fabric: Colourwork Projects for You and Your Home - Dee Hardwicke
Brimming with artistic inspiration and filled with patterns for gorgeous knitwear and joyful pieces for the home, this creative and original book invites you to step inside Dee Hardwicke’s world. Illustrated throughout with beautiful watercolours and painterly photography, The Knitted Fabric brings the pages of Dee’s sketchbooks to life. As Dee explains, “I find the process of knitting very similar to painting, with each stitch being a brushstroke of colour. As stitches loop together, they create a knitted fabric, a kind of narrative of art, making and the people and landscapes that inspire me”. Just like the 20 nature-inspired designs within it, this unique book is something to treasure. Dee Hardwicke is an artist, designer and knitter whose work is inspired by her passion for colour and by her love of the British landscape. Dee’s designs have been used in exclusive collaborations with partners including the National Trust and Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Her previous knitting books include A Story in Yarn: How to Design and Knit an Intarsia Heirloom Quilt (Quail Publishing, 2016) and several titles with leading British yarn producers and designers Rowan. Each design begins life in her sketchbooks.
