Purl & Jane Betsy Jumper
Patterns

Purl & Jane Betsy Jumper

£4.50
Betsy Jumper - Purl & Jane by Jane Ellison This jumper is inspired by my love of vintage patterns. My favourite era is the 1930s and 1940s. I hope this jumper visually shows that influence but the written pattern isn’t inspired by that era! They were very vague and only had one size. I like writing simple easy to knit patterns that you can just relax with, this is true of this pattern. It doesn’t have any shaping to create the shape, it is the ribbing that shapes perfectly to your body. And it doesn’t have to be fitted, choose the right size and you can have a loose fitting one. My kind of knitting! The yarn and stitches do all the work while you sit back and relax with the knitting. Another bonus with this pattern is that you can create a tank top or a jumper from it. To create the tank top, just don’t knit the sleeves. The nature of the stitch (love, love, love, stitches that do all the work!) means it doesn’t need any edging to be added to create the armhole. Super Duper!

The Crochet Project Pick and Mix
Patterns

The Crochet Project Pick and Mix

£12.00
Pick and Mix - The Crochet Project A collection five crochet garments and accessories incorporating colourwork designs with endless variations. Using this book, you can create your own completely unique design by pairing your choice of sweater, cardigan or hat with your choice of four colourwork patterns and your choice of four main stitch patterns. They all work beautifully together without the need for any extra maths. We've even included the maths and pattern writing assumptions so you can have a go at designing your own stitch patterns if you'd like to. Each stitch pattern is written and charted, and we have included lots of advice throughout the book to help you create the perfect item even if it is your first garment. Although the colourwork looks complicated, each pattern uses only one colour at a time (no stranding) and we've added some tips on how to avoid getting into a tangle. There's also the chance to make a patch pocket or a hat to get practice with the colourwork pattern before you dive in. We want this book to be for everybody and every body. The patterns are suitable for age 2 upwards, are all unisex and offer inclusive sizing and fitting options. We've used a common weight of yarn that is widely available at all price points, so whether you live for indie hand dyed or want to pick up your yarn at the discount supermarket, this book will work well for you. Purl & Jane Nora Sleeveless Gansay
Patterns

Purl & Jane Nora Sleeveless Gansay

£4.50
Nora Sleeveless Gansay - Purl & Jane by Jane Ellison The Nora Sleeveless Gansay was first published in 2018 and is the first Purl &Jane garment that is knitted in the round. It is knitted from the bottom up. The bottom part of the gansay uses just the knit stitch with rib at the sides, so is perfect if this is your first time knitting in the round. It then divides for the front and back, which are then knitted in rows. This top section takes a little time to get used to the pattern. So if you fancied knitting in the round without the tricky stitches at the top then there are two more patterns to choose from – Bray Tank Top and Fabrile Tank Top. This sleeveless top uses the same cable and stitch pattern as the Woodhouse Gansay (The Woodhouse Gansay is knitted in pieces) The Nora is inspired, like the Woodhouse, by my total and absolute love for fisherman’s gansays. The history and why they were made is what knitting means to me – a personal hand knitted garment that keeps the wearer warm, dry and surrounded with a feeling of being loved.

Pom Pom Publishing The Shetland Trader, Book Three: Heritage

£24.50
The Shetland Trader, Book Three: Heritage by Gudrun Johnston Gudrun Johnston joins forces with Pom Pom Press for the latest instalment of her Shetland Trader series. This third volume explores the very roots of the series: the made-to-order knitwear business run in the 1970s by Patricia Johnston, Gudrun’s mother, which operated as The Shetland Trader. Through archival research and a network of family, friends, and fibre enthusiasts, Gudrun has unearthed some of her mother’s best-loved designs and updated them for contemporary knitters. This collection contains 11 patterns for garments and accessories. Use them to create seventies-inspired dream ensembles as well as heirloom pieces incorporating traditional Shetland knitting techniques and motifs. The Shetland Trader, Book Three: Heritage asks us to consider the traditions and fabrics we pass on to those we love, and the stories and wishes knit into every stitch.

Jane Crowfoot Magic Circles Scarf

Jane Crowfoot Magic Circles Scarf

£6.95
I love looking at how shapes fit together and had wanted to create a tessellating circle design for some time. Circular motifs can be tricky to fit together and it is common to find the circular shape becomes slightly distorted when motifs are pieced together, so rather than create motifs that are square or octagonal, I have designed cross-shaped infill pieces that protect the shape of the large circles. Finished blocked measurements: approx 117cm (46in) x 117cm (46in).
