We’re celebrating summer in Issue 204, with a collection of knits for warm, sunny days – as well as useful layers for when the weather isn’t quite so balmy! Discover pretty short-sleeved jumpers using Fair Isle, cables and slip stitch colourwork, along with lightweight tops such as a beautiful sleeveless lace cardigan, and a seaside-inspired blue and white vest top from Lisa Richardson.

Fancy taking a sock project away with you on your holiday this summer? We have two designs for you: an intricate lace and cable pair, and a colourwork pattern depicting The Groke from the much-loved Moomin books. Our masterclass explores how to adapt sweater patterns for a better fit, and we meet hand-dyer Claire Bentley of Cookston Crafts in the latest in our series on Britain’s artisan yarn makers.

Our special supplement features a contemporary lace cardigan designed for us by Emma Vining. ‘Lincoln’s Inn’ has a relaxed fit and a graphic openwork stitch pattern, and is knitted in Cascade’s much-loved 220 Aran yarn.
